My Approach

When I was in graduate school, a supervisor commented "you are the same in session as you are in real life." I don't know if she meant it to be a compliment, but that was my interpretation. For therapy to be effective, you have to feel comfortable with your psychologist. I can have all the degrees in the world, however if you don't feel a connection- change will not occur. 

I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (how your thoughts, feelings and behaviors are connected), however adapt your sessions to your needs and preferences. Together, we will create specific goals for your therapy, then at your pace- begin to work towards them. My goal for each session is that you feel supported, seen, and heard. 

Our work together will include both of us getting to know you, collaboratively developing goals and identifying ways to move you from surviving to thriving.
